This individual will be responsible for running rehearsals, teaching and cleaning technique, cleaning choreography, and assisting with choreography and show design where appropriate.

Job Requirements:

- Comfortable running rehearsals in both a small and large ensemble setting, without additional assistance/supervision.

- Comfortable working directly with students in 8th-12th grade and their parent(s)/guardian(s.)

- Proficient in flag and intermediate/advanced movement technique.

- Weapon experience/proficiency is a plus, but not required.

- Previous performance with a competitive ensemble equivalent to WGI A, Open, or World Class. (Our goal is to grow the program into a competitive A Class guard — we need someone who understands what it takes to reach that level.)

Prior teaching experience is NOT required.

Martinsville High School will compete in ISSMA Scholastic A Class this fall and the Varsity Winter Guard will enter their second year in A Class this winter.

We are open to an individual who is planning on continuing to perform with a drum corps and/or independent winter guard and unable to be with our group during weekend camps, however attendance at weekday rehearsals is a must.

Pay is negotiable based on experience.

Questions should be directed to Ken Belt (Band Director) at [email protected] and Ryan Austill (Color Guard Director) at [email protected].
