Guard Position Available at Warsaw HS


Guard Director position available.




Details: The Warsaw Band department is looking for a Guard Director for the winter/spring season. This is currently a Booster paid position with an additional stipend from the school corporation. The position would involve the management, design, recruitment, and teaching of our guard for the entire year. We are looking to fill this position asap. Responsibilities: The Guard Director position will include teaching and rehearsing, including being present at all rehearsals and performances throughout the winter and spring. They will also create and teach guard routine and choreography and assist with rehearsals as needed. Guard Director will also be responsible for recruiting and retention of guard members, including off-season recruitment, open rehearsals and meetings. Qualifications: Candidate must have previous guard experience, including performing in High School, College, or Drum Corps, preferable someone with previous teaching experience in the guard area too. People with music experience are preferred, and dance experience is a plus. Candidate should be comfortable working with high school aged students, be able to build rapport but maintain professionalism, teach relatively inexperienced members, have good work ethic, be early and attend all required functions, and be a positive role model for students. They must possess good communication skills and work cooperatively with staff and administration.
